We're Still Obsessed...

Obsessed with Bedding, that is... When a new shipment comes in to the store, it's like Christmas. We all can't wait unpack it and dress the beds with a fresh look. Last month we began carrying Les Indiennes from Mary Mulcahy. Her collection of block prints and Indigo Ikats are really fabulous and currently holding a place in our front window.

The vintage, masculine appeal of Matteo is always a store favorite and their classic Ticking works really great with all the other textures

Of course John Robshaw Textiles is constantly creating... It seems like we're replenishing this basket of his Mirror Pillows every day.

The girls and I set this rich fall look last week with the Bella Notte Ruby and Tuscan palette and some wonderful some silk and brocade pillows from Pillow Talk. It's kind of hard to believe Fall is here already, but it's almost October.

Rachel's Beach Cottage on Oprah

We're all getting super excited about our Book Signing Event here at Blue Springs Home, with Rachel Ashwell on October 24th and really hope you all can come and meet her in person. We have her new book on sale at the store now, so you may want to swing by and get a copy so that se can sign it for you when she's here.

Rachel was on Oprah some time ago and gave a tour of her 1700 sq. ft. beach cottage in Malibu. Click on this link to see it for yourself on Oprah.com...

Art & Antiques....

I'm constantly adding unique Art & Antiques to our mix of Bedding and Accessories at Blue Springs Home and feel like they give the store a vintage appeal that you don't see at every other store. The crazy thing is that they actually sell. Last week we got an amazing new collection of art from local artist Susan Elizabeth Ashurst "SEA"... We profiled her on the blog some time ago in a post titled:

Susan uses this beautiful Vintage Japanese Wall Paper to paint on and adds the grommets on the corners that make for a simple and rustic framing. The nice thing about Susan's art is that it is really fresh and accessible. These pieces are a nice size and sell for about $150 each.

I've always been a bit of "Junker" or "Dumpster Diver", as they say in the antique world, but the latest pieces that I picked up are far from Junk. I try to pick up objects of desire and small furniture pieces for a great price and pass it on to my customers, like these gorgeous Lincoln Vases , circa 1860 at $495 for the pair.

I almost had to take this pair of 1920's Wing Back Chairs home, just couldn't find the space. Instead they are here at the store for and look great...

Side Tables are always good movers as well and I always look for them in pairs so that clients can use them to flank a bed or sofa. I love this pair of Floral Side Chests. They have a really sweet floral detail over a rustic gesso finish.

This little pair of Antique Blue Night Stands are really special. I especially love the gilded corners and hand painted detail. I have them listed at $495 each and don't think they'll last long.
